Brief Paichai University history

• Located in Daejeon, S.Korea
• Established in 1985 by Rev. Henry G. Appenzeller has 122 years of history
• Graduated from the university and became the first President (Seung-Man Lee)
• One of the Largest universities in S.Korea
• Paichai University established the center for Korean Studies to send students to overseas and become an international university.

Paichai Center for Korean Studies

• There are 24 centers all around the world including Mongolia, Japan, China, Vietnam, Russia, etc.
• Planning to extend to 50 centers by 2008
• Approximately 1000 overseas students have completed the Center for Korean Studies
• As the center has many years of experiences, students are well educated and cared
• Interrelationship with about 100 universities over 30 countries

Present condition of PCU-MIU Center for Korean Studies

• There are 17 students from various universities including MUIS etc who are studying in the Center for Korean Studies to improve their Korean and to continue their studies in Korean universities
• Semester lectures: First semester - Sept 3rd ~Dec 7th, Second semester: March 3rd - July 6th.
• 200 lecture hours each semester
• Transcript and certificate of completion will be issued
• 3 hours per day from 9:30am to 12:20pm/ 4:30pm to 7:20pm
• Grammar, reading, speaking, listening and writing is taught by Mongolian and Korean teachers.
• Teachers, academic curriculum and lecture materials are supplied by Paichai University
