Tuition fee information for AY 2021-2022
Domestic Admission Scholarships & Entrance Benefit
The following scholarships apply strictly to Mongolian applicants will be given for the first year. The target recipient of this section comprises both non-MIU high school graduates and MIU high school graduates.
General Entrance Examination Scholarship :
Applicants who receive 800 on one of the selected General Entrance Examination (GEE / EYESH) subjects shall receive 100% scholarship of the first year tuition fee.
Gold Admission Scholarship :
Applicants who receive above 91% of the final admission score shall get 100% scholarship of the first year tuition fee. This scholarship only applies to those who take MIU Entrance Exam before the late application period.
Silver Admission Scholarship :
Applicants who receive 85-90% of the final admission score shall get 50% scholarship of first year tuition fee. This scholarship only applies to those who take MIU Entrance Exam before the late application period.
Best Award Benefit :
Applicants with “Best Award Certificate” are exempted from MIU entrance exam and skill test.
Best Award Certificate(s) is/are given to the talented students where the department chair and/or professors specifically recognize the talent of the applicants in exhibitions, tournaments, and other academic competitions.
International Admission Scholarships
A foreign applicant who receives the highest, second highest, third highest final admission score shall receive the following scholarships accordingly for the first year:
1st : final admission score above 95% shall receive a 100% scholarship.
2nd: final admission score above 90% shall receive 75% scholarship.
3rd: final admission score above 85% shall receive 50% scholarship.
MIU High School Academic Scholarships and Entrance Benefit
Applicants who scored more than 90% on the high school GPA and graduation exams for the last 3 years, shall receive a 100% scholarship of the first year tuition fee.
Applicants who received 700-799 score of one of the selected GEE subjects shall receive 80% scholarship of the first year tuition fee.
MIU Language Institute Academic Scholarships
Among MIU Language Institute graduates (Mongolian and foreign applicants), two applicants with the highest grades and greatest improvements shall receive the MIU Language Institute Academic Scholarship.
For the top student, 100% of the first year tuition fee shall be waived.
The second top student shall have a 50% of the first year tuition fee waived.
Sibling Support Scholarship :
MIU recognizes the commitment many families make in sending multiple children to MIU and wishes to offer the sibling scholarship. This scholarship shall be awarded only to the direct family (starting from the second) member with 50% scholarship of tuition fee only for the first academic year, if the applicant receives more than 70% of the final admission score.
Academic Scholarship is awarded on the automatic basis of academic achievement for the following academic year (fall and spring semester), which covers only tuition fee amount.
To qualify for these automatic offers, student must be a full-time MIU student who studied at least one year at MIU:
100% Academic Scholarship:
● A student with a cumulative GPA* of 4.0 with at least 24 credits of coursework (with minimum of 12 credits per semester) in the previous Academic Year.
50% Academic Scholarship:
● A student with a cumulative GPA* of 3.85 or above but less than 4.0 and with at least 24 credits of coursework (with minimum of 12 credits per semester) in the previous Academic Year.
25% Academic Scholarship:
● A student with a cumulative GPA* of 3.70 or above but less than 3.85 and with at least 24 credits of coursework (with minimum of 12 credits per semester) in the previous Academic Year.
*Please note that cumulative GPA refers to the total GPA of all semesters studied at MIU.
Korean Diaspora Scholarship (KSD) is given to students who have both parents of full Korean descendants (Russian Koreans, Chinese Koreans and Korean descents from Central Asian countries only).
New Region & Regional Scholarship is given to students from regions or ethnic groups from designated countries* from 1 to 4 academic (equivalent to 8 semesters) years only.
*Applicants, who hold a citizenship and permanent residence, from North Korea, specific minority ethnic groups of Russia, China, India, countries in Persia, Central Asia : Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan (Northern part of), Tibet autonomous region of China, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Qinghai, Sichuan Province, Gansusheng and other regions of China where the minority groups reside are eligible for the “New Region & Regional Scholarships.
Designated Scholarships (Hazara Mongol Support) is given to only Hazara Mongols, an ethnic minority group in Afghanistan who are considered descendants of Mongolian
Intercultural Global Service Scholarship is applicable to all nationalities, both Mongolian and foreign applicants, if a student’s family is involved in full-time intercultural service (MK only) in a foreign country,
Community Service Professional Family Scholarship is given to only Mongolian applicants whose caregiver is professionally involved in full-time Community Service in Mongolia, if a Mongolian student’s family is involved in community service (PK only),
Disability Support Scholarship is given to students who are considered “disabled” and shall be awarded with a four-year scholarship of tuition fee. The amount of scholarship is calculated by the total tuition fee of the particular academic year minus the government scholarship to disabled students.
MIU Mongolian Family Support Scholarship is given to students where the immediate family member of MIU’s full-time staff (spouse or child) shall receive 30% of discounted tuition fee for up to 8 semesters.
MIU Foreign Volunteer Family Support Scholarships is given to students where the immediate family member of full-time foreign volunteer worker’s family (spouse or children) shall receive 100% of discounted tuition fee for a maximum of 8 semesters.
The President and Vice President of the Student Union (SU) will receive 75% and 50% tuition scholarship respectively for the academic year that they serve.
The students whose family struggle financially may apply for the Financial Aid Scholarship. The successful candidates for the financial aid scholarship will receive a 25% tuition scholarship for one academic year.
MIU Global Servant Leader Scholarship is given to talented students who are willing to contribute to the University. The applicants will be selected according to the needs of the University and the terms shall be discussed by the Scholarship committee.
